Uptime between resyncs, from ADSL24's log. ![]() BT Speedtest from speedtester.bt.com Plotted with gnuplot . December 09 changed from ADSL24/Enta/BT21CN to ADSL24/Murphx/C&W LLU, so no more BT Speedtest updates possible. Now in June 2011 I revisited RRDTool and have been playing with it. Very much a work-in-progress: |
Using ST546 again. The 2Wire BT2700HGV
stopped working on 23 Nov 2010, maybe just the PSU -
am looking for replacement. 2Wire BT2700HGV with 4.25.23 Software. SNR Margin, Synch Speeds @ 30 secs interval and Bitloading @ 10 mins intervals. June 2009 changed from DG834v2 to ST546v6 modem. The TI chipset of the DG834 didn't seem very happy with the change to ADSL2+. ISP advises to use Broadcom chipset for ADSL2+, as in the ST546. At the time it wasn't supported by RouterStats, so looked for other monitor software, ideally running on both Linux and Windows. (RouterStats now supports the ST585, and this mode also seems to work OK for the ST546). Bumped into a basic stats monitor written in Perl in this article by Jason Lassaline: Line stats monitoring with RRDTool or MRTG. It's quite simple, reliable, modifiable, and can also run on both Linux and Windows. Having logged the data how to see it? Tried RRDTool with MRTG and Cacti, but seemed overkill for the limited data available back in June 2009. Found flot, which is a Javascript plotting library. Initially made two Perl scripts to convert logged data into JSON format to plot the two charts. And extended for POV-Ray format to produce the 3D "Bits per tone over time" plot. The Perl scripts have subsequently grown and grown, and spawned a few bash scripts too! |
